Animation can contribute in both big and small ways to documentary and film. I’ve provided the art direction on several longer pieces, developing custom text templates, opening titles, as well as fully animated sequences. The continuity in design and type help weave the sections together and, most importantly, help visualize those parts of the story that film cannot capture.

Trying to visualize the global impact of the pandemic or recreating a traumatic event when all you have is someone’s memory of what happened. The graphics carry the story forward and, no matter if it is a map, documents, or segment animation, make the film a better and more engaging piece.
